Limestone with the feel of sandpaper

Hi newbie here and in deep doo doo with my wife, we have had a limestone floor laid and the shower tiled in a Honed limestone, great job but like a tit I sealed it and while I thought I had cleaned before I started now it's dried with the feel of sandpaper, :mad2:

So am I right in thinking that I have to strip off the sealer and start again, and if so what would you guys reccommend to remove the sealer with.

HG remover is a deep cleaner if we can understand his problem then maybe there is an easier way after all his problem is a surface one.

On travertine brick acid ?? its a alkali sedimentry limestone. You want to remove the honed surface as well then.

Directions for use: Use this product to ensure that old floors are perfectly clean before applying a new polish layer such as HG Golvpolish.

For difficult areas and to remove old polish dilute this product with a minimum of 1:4 parts of warm water. In less severe cases dilute up to 1:10 with warm water. When a scrubbing machine is used dilute 1:50 up 1:100 depending on degree of dirt.

Apply solution liberally to the floor treating up to 10-15 square metres at a time. Leave the solution to work for at least 5-10 minutes. Do not allow the floor to dry out. Scub the floor and when clean, mop up. Rinse the mop repeatedly. Rinse 2-3 times thoroughly with clean luke warm water afterwards.

Usage: 20-40 metres squared per litre. 100-250 square metres where a scrubbing machine is used.

M8 this is the problem with stone. Limestone is the catagory. Travertine is a limestone but its not called "Limestone" if you understand.

Travertine and limestone are both alkali stones so you should not use acid on either it eats it. Using acid can be a very costly mistake

I think Defy is trying to get the point across that stone needs a little understanding and there is no easy fix method. We can sometimes forget that stone is natural and has pores like you and I sowe need to treat it with a little respect

would speak to who you got the sealer from as one company`s seal remover is only guranteed to have no reactions against a sealer from its own range. ie if u used hg sealer and then fila seal remover and they reacted then you would have no potential comebacks with either company.

I have found a solution:yes: running a very fine disc sander without applying any pressure over the surface.
