lino tiles, tile over or remove?

i spoke to bal and ardex on the phone after the vinyl tiles had failed on that job of mine and both says i should have lifted vinyl tiles (suppose they were just covering their own backs)

Yes they will because they don't know how well stuck they are. This is only a descision you can make.............IF IN DOUBT, RIP 'EM OUT !!

the way they explained it was if its a sunny room and the floor gets hot off the sunlight the glue they are stuck down with will become soft and more chance of tile failure

Makes perfect sense to me,but I have spent a lot of time fixing amtico(vinyl)in conservatoties and you have to put them down with epoxy resin adhesive, otherwise the're up.Any tile fixed with epoxy adhesive is well lets say permanent!
