What have you done to find work, other than post on this forum?

There is heaps of info on here about finding work. I drew up a list of all the contact I should make and went out and made them.

Around 10% of the people I spoke to came back to me with either work for themselves or in the form of other people who got my details.

To avoid issues when starting out I would stick to personal recommendations. Most of my work is via this route and I've never had a real problem as a result.

Ive just got sorted with a van got it sign written, tools etc business cards, going stick a them in different letting agents and put an advert in the papers. like you say until word of mouth travels its going to be steady but im ver persistant dont give up that easy, wont turn my nose up at many jobs either beggers cant be choosers!!! done it on and off over the years so decided to go at it self employed, i went and did the 6 week C&G intensive advanced tiling course at able skills in dartford i highly reccommend them quality instruction and techniques . will just have to see how it goes!!
