low emission zone

Thought I would give a heads up on this ,from January 2012 any commercial vehicle entering the London low emission zone that does not comply with the emission level rating will be charged £100 per visit ,this applies to all vans older than an 04/05 unless its been converted ,it means there will be a lot of older vans for sale and if you are looking to purchase a used van be aware it needs to be low emission zone compliant:yikes:

Gawd, am I glad that I live where I live. Whatever the details, even having to worry about stuff like that, good grief, who needs that? And £100 per visit, pfffff.... I bet a whole forest full of beautiful trees will be planted and the rainforest will be saved with the revenue then.. ha...

If you're a breakdown company (not sure how they define that, flashing lights and the wording "breakdown" on your van?) or a private hire taxi, you pay nothing.

Trying to find out how to register as a private hire taxi now and how much it is.

Does 'Nervous Breakdown' company count? :lol: with a couch in the back? could be useful in London... actually, I may have just had a brilliant new business idea there... a mobile counselling van... any takers? If I give you the rights to use this idea you only have to pay me 30% of your income for the next thirty years

Sent 'em an email to ask if a private hire taxi has to be based in London or if taxis taking customers from outside london can get in and out congestion charge free.

Will wait to see what they say, I bet they get this a lot lol

Taxis include 18 BMW X5's. That'll be for the school trips then haha
