lumpy adhesive

Hi Y'all, just had a bag of adhesive over the weekend that, when I opened it, was all lumpy. Small lumps they were that crumbled when i squeezed them between my fingers. It was a flexi regular setting, the bag showed no signs of dampness and was assured that it had been stored correctly, the adhesive was also not out of date. Any ideas on how this might happen and would it have been safe to use ?? Cheers Cow.

the weather is getting hotter again so it may be possible that it's been sitting sweating in a hot warehouse. have you got the receipt for the purchase? I'd be tempted to mix a small batch up and test it, see how it goes. if it's not what you would expect, take the whole lot back and get your money back.

As above, if the lumps are small and break down with an electric mixer you should be fine, but if you do a test mix and the lumps are not beating out I would take it straight back.

if is not that far away i would just take it back and get a new batch, not worth the risk imo.

Could have been the bottom bag on a cold floor..have you checked the dates.

Almost certainly due to compaction. If the lumps break down then the cement as not hydrated and if in shelf life the adhesive should be fine
