Makita batteries 4.0 !!

OK i have received my charger and two of these new 18 volt batteries ,i have charged them-up on the new charger , expecting them to fit my makita 18v grinder and i just can't get them to engage any ideas please ?? perhaps these batteries are not the right ones ,

i have three brand-new one's , just tried them in my new radio and they work fine !! and the radio works on the older 3.0 lion-iron ....

so did i Neil ! but i 'am thinking they may be a rouge batch they look the same as my others but some thing is stopping them from attaching !!! i even put a bit of WD-40 on the plastic just to help but still no-good ......

4.0Ah battery fits all existing Makita 18V Li-Ion machines with the yellow connector plate (starred or not); it fits the black connector if a 'star' is showing. 'Star' on machine plate and on battery ensures they talk to each other for battery/tool protection.

THanks Neil where did you find this -out ? the grinders don't have Star's or yellow plates so must be incompatible , i will have to return them for the other batteries then ..bit disappointed now ! .oh well i should have looked into it a bit more than i did ,instead of assuming lol.......

I feel really stupid now ! they look the same as the others and even run some of my other makita stuff BUT i bought them as back-ups for the grinders lol.......

That sounds very odd.Why work on one tool and not another,is it anything to do with the grinders possibly ?

Got them 4.0 ah changed today to 3.0 but got three instead of two......but the guy from ITS try to overcharge me !, so i was straight on the phone and got a re-fund bloody chancers ......
