Makita retired

My Makita cordless drill has been retired today. I saw a Dewalt in B&Q for £89 so decided to see if it lasts as long as the Makita. 4 Years !!!
The Makita will stay in the workshop for general/lighter duties.

I've had the same DeWalt you've got, cost me £100, for 3 yrs now and I think the batteries are getting possibly a bit tired.

I havent found a better grinder than the Makita although I used to like a Bosch grinder but it had a small spindle size and wheels were hard to get but it had a small diameter body so you could get a good hold on it.

Batteries on the Makita are fine, it was the chuck that sometimes would lock with a drill bit in it.

i have had two de-walt cordless 18v drill/driver for about 8 year now ,but the batteries go to quick ,it does my sweed-in ......

Had the 18v DeWalt B&Q special for about 3 years now. Still going OK but the chuck is starting to stick/slacken a bit. Would probably up the coin and get something a bit heavier when this one goes, although it's good value for money at around £100.

I've just gone for a makita 18v lithium ion, cant fault it at all and the 3ah batteries have a lot more power than my 24v bosch

Update on this, the Dewalt batteries don't seem to last anywhere near as long as the Makitas ! I may have to bring it out of retirement.

If your looking for a replacement, I thought this was a good deal, a 12v Makita for sale, cheaper than you can buy the batteries alone!
