Mapei grout

Weber is the worst of the lot, their adhesives and SLC's are some of the best around, the grout is horrid.

Got to agree with Bri with Webber grout, just could'nt get on with it....

Ive had two micromax 2 jobs go patchy on me,pebble was one and smoke was the other.(Walls were patchy yet the floor looked fine ???? Bal seemed to think there was contamination coming from the actual wall tile...............hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!)

Takes ages to set up in the joints but, dries on the tile face too quickly, which makes washing off a pain. It has a nice consistency and is easy to apply but, as with UCP, the trouble comes at washing off time.

I haven't had any bother with it Bri, I used it on a kitchen slashback last week & it did dry quick on the tile face (porcelain) but the grout lines were really good, I went back & siliconed yesterday & checked it over & was fine.
Used it on a few floors now without a problem.
I want to try tile master 3000, might order a couple of bags.

As Bri really but a rep said on here that the grout was for working on large areas of tiles, so trying to rush it was another problem if working on small areas...

I remember that, the length of time you had to leave it though it would end up welded onto the tile.

I'm not a fan either. I've used UCP for years and get on with it fine. I tried Ardex FS last week and was well impressed. Bal Microflex is good too.

Never have liked mapai grouts, for coloured grouts i use kerrakoll eco, as i have a stockest near me, you can do a large floor and still have a cup of tea before washing off. Lincoln has a bad choice of trade tile shops. i also like Ardex but the nearest supplier is in Nottingham or Hull (and who wants to go there).

I couldn't disagree more!?! Weber Joint Pro is my grout of choice. It's so smooth! I don't have problems with it going patchy anymore, although I did get that in the beginning. If you knock it up slightly too wet, it goes patchy, so I always err to the slightly dry side.
i find grout 3000 goes off too quick, but then I'm not the fastest grouter in the world.
cant stand Mapei for the reasons stated above... Goes off too quick, doesn't stick to anything, and has been too sandy for at least 4 years (that's when I first used it)!

Stopped using anything Mapei related now.

Weber or tile master , great adhesives and both good grouts .

Interesting method of how to stop shading. I was bragging about how I "thought" I knew how to stop webber grout shading down the shop with another tiler recently who also had a shading issue, however their was a job I had to go back to for snagging and I could not believe the shading!! This was a job I grouted with webber and was very confident it was 100% ok but to my sad surprise it was all patchy so from then on I refuse to use it.

Got a small cloakroom to half tile tomorrow and I'm going to be using grout 3000 for the first time. Will report back my findings!

Given the quality of their adhesives' self levelling gear etc, Weber grout is horrid beyond belief. Absolutely dreadful stuff.

Personally I use Mapei regularly without a problem and the Tilemaster 3000 grouts are very good also.
