you shouldn't use saliva as this causes the silicone to go black also doesn't taste very nice.

apply mapei silicone spray with soapy water smooth with silicone tool supplied by tradetiler no problem job done no need for masking tape

I agree with the majority above and only use Mapei, if you follow the advice about getting on it quick and using a tool (I use a Stanley silicone tool) and a soap/water/saliva solution I really don't think it can be beaten

Don't use WonderWipes to get it off your lips, you end up looking like you had botox

Don't mistake wonder wipes for toilet wipes either, wipe your bum with them and you'll know it,

i always use mapei, find it very good silicone to use and always use clear washing up liquid with water in a spray bottle and then spray my finger and use that.
tradetiler sell the silicone nozzles that can be turned 90degrees which are a massive help sometimes.
