Mixing grout with SBR

i would say it depends on the ratio of sbr in the render as to the percentage of waterproofing !

To me though Dave, it would only be a quick fix & it will eventually fail.
You know as well as I do that water that will find it's way in through any little hole.
Do it right the 1st time & problem is solved.

Certainly stef ! sorry i was thinking about making a waterproof render with SBR  and not really thinking about the question originally asked .......... 😳

EPDM is not an option. It's a terrace that is being used as a little garden in summer. I know EPDM is a good solution but in my opinion for roofs that are not being used.

Couldn't an EPDM be fitted as a tanking system and then a surface finish applied?

It would guarantee a leak free roof.

We got a kit from these people for our garden office http://www.rubber4roofs.co.uk/

All it is is a tanking membrane, just substantially thicker than a regular tiling tanking system.

Sorry to high jack this thread!
Alan, I stumbled across your garden office thread yesterday, love it by the way!, did u ever post final pictures of the office and the chairs you were designing?
Marc.

These were a pair of Alfa Romeo passenger seats I picked up on eBay (the drivers seats get snapped up and cost a lot more).

I bought some short gas rams and a base also from ebay then got a local engineer to make a custom subframe for both seats.

Total cost was around £300 for the pair, which was a bargain, and they are very comfy.

Outstanding Alan! That's really quite slick, those chairs turned out amazing!
Absoloutely love the office, inside and out.
I've got to build my workshop/shed/man cave this year (summerhouse if u listen to the wife! Haha)
If it turns out anywhere near as good as that I'll be a happy camper.

Thanks.

We got this guy (Simeon) to build the framework out of Sips Panels.

Can't recommend this construction system highly enough.

Outside timber is cedar treated with OSMO UV oil. Bought from these people http://www.benchmarktimber.co.uk/

oh excellent, thanks for those details Alan, may well come in handy. I have a Benchmark wholesaler not half a mile from where we live. Can u recall the cost of the cedar per Lm approx?
