You can still use a paddle as long as the bucket is not to big, I used a set of scales and borrowed a saucepan from the kitchen when the mrs went out, popped in in the dish washer right after and she never realised.

From memory a 5 kg bag need 1 litre of water so I used 200ML of water to 1kg of grout, the couler match was fine, but then it was white :)

I had put down polished porcelain floor tile and was wary of having the grout setting on the surface too long so preferred do do smaller sections and clean fully before moving on, did take a while but I had read some horror stories about grout staining on here so preferred this route
