There are loads of threads on these. About a month ago, there was a large thread on montolit vs rubi. I'm a Montolit man myself. I've never really liked Rubi. I chose Sigma over Rubi, and then Montolit over Sigma. Do a search on my username and the word "montolit" and I'm sure you'll get loads of hits  I've personally had a finger in one or two Rubi to Montolit conversions on these forums

Nope, I haven't, but Tiler Burden has. I belive he sold his after he tried a Montolit MasterPiuma.

Here's input from someone (not me) who's tried the TI66, and who can compare it to the Masterpiuma:

"oh, for gods sake dont get the t1-66s. as i said it s the best rubi to date but, the build quality isnt as good as the monti and the cut and the ease of cut just doesnt compare."

'Nuff said

Mind you, I don't think Rubi make bad cutters (in fact, I kind of liked the TS-30 for small tiles), but from the ones I've tried, I'd say there are better ways to spend your tool budget.

totally agree with that person that swe quoted lol

if you want a cutter that performs like a montolit or sigma for that matter, then buy a montolit or a sigma.

if you like rubi then buy what they do best. the ts and tx range

i ordered the rubi ti 75s but after a chat with swe, tiler burden and grumpy i cancelled it and got the monty instead , nearly finished a 42m2 bathroom with 600x300 porcs and its eating them , cutting, build quality very impressive , but im sure the rubi is a decent cutter mate!!

The Raimondi would kick them both into touch they make propper aluminium body cutters for the trade as well as second string steel cutters like those sold by Montolit.

Its a question of spending your money once isnt it spend on a quality tool and it will last. Rubi make manual tools, Montolit make manual tools Raimondi make mechanical tools.

You go see a dentist about your teeth................?

Bobbin,pm me please after you've tried out your cutter on some hard porcelain,I'm interested in getting one and would appreciate your imput mate,Cheers:thumbsup:

No probs mate, I have a selection of tiles to cut, some soft, some hard, ranging from small to the biggest I can put though the cutter.
The thing is I have not used either the Montolit or the RUBI TI so it does not really matter which I went for, I will get used to which ever one. I will make the RUBI work for me.

I appreciate everyone's help in this, thank you :grouphug:

Well the RUBI turned up today and I have been playing with it for a couple of hours and have to say I am very impressed with it. I have had a range of tiles from very hard Porcelain to soft, also had a fair few ceramics, all cut perfect, down to 1cm slivers!
I am very happy with this and I am sure I will not have any problems.

Thanks for all your advice guys.
