Hi All.

Have recently done a test using N C Starlike epoxy on many differant mosaics i mounted up.

There was stone,clear glass,red glass,black glass,porcelain,etc

Everythings fine apart from the gold mosaic where a sort of blue halo around each mosaic has bled into the white grout.

Quite interested if any body can suggest what has happened and why just on the shiney gold mosaic.

Many Thanks.

Kevin

its acidic compounds in the grout affect the mettallic compounds in the mosaic ,which brand of mosaics was it kev as i have grouted up gold mosaics with gold glitter epoxy and didnt have a problem but have heard that epoxy has got an acidic ph value

Thanks for replying Gary.

Not sure where the mosaic is from as they where all bits and bats left over from previous jobs over time.

Intresting though that on the board there is a sheet of red metalic and no bleeding.

I am just on at the moment with a wet room with glass mosaics but a blue metalic back.

Not ideal but i think the safest way is going to be to epoxy a sheet and see if there is a reaction.

Kev
