Hello,
I need to tile one wall of a shower with glass mosaics. I have some Bostik Showerproof ready-mixed adhesive - would this work with glass mosaics? The spec of the mosaic tiles is:
DESCRIPTION Crystal glass mosaic mounted on fibre meshback
SIZE 15 x 15 x 8 mm thick
USE Wall only
WEAR GRADE not applicable
SHEET SIZE 300 x 300 mm
SHEETS PER NOM SQ METRE 11
TILES PER SHEET 324
WEIGHT PER SHEET 1.30 kilos
I'm suspecting that people will recommend Bal Mosaic Fix - from reading a few posts on this site, that seems to be everyone's favourite for mosaics. The Bostik adhesive is very pale in colour, so shouldn't affect the colour of the mosaics; I'm going for a white grout.
The wall is dot & dab plasterboard (onto new blockwork behind), then plastered, then primed with 3 coats of Bal APD, plus a liberal larding of Bal WP1 tanking coating in the corners. The wall will get a good soaking whenever the shower is used.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I'm planning on starting tomorrow (Saturday 10th May 2014)...I've left this "research" a bit late!!
Thanks,
Paul
