Might not be the materials that you used, could be lack of air in the room after you used it, leave the window open after you have showered, keeping window shut with radiator makes it worse, i would clean grout with mould cleaner or bleach, and try not to leave wet towels or wet washing in there. I had the same problem in a flat i own, i tiled it and the tenant moved in about six months later complained about mould i cleaned it explained the above to her, and haven't had a problem since. Good luck and i hope this helps.

Mapei Ultracolor has bioblock to prevent the build up of mould.

Mould is caused by a combination of poor ventilation, moisture, and basically body fat molecules. If the grout is porous dirt will be absorbed giving the mould a good base to grow - good compaction of the grout is essential to close down its porosity and the use of Bioblock prevents the dirt molcules from hanging on.

OK enough of the lecture - a rigourous anti bacterial cleaning regime would make a big difference - Modern hair products contain waxes and silicones that a quick squirt of Jif just wont shift and its these that are the main culpriits

I take it that the re-grout is a last resort ?? that being the case following a good antibacterial clean i'm guessing that the grout will have a rough surface which is why the mould has built up so quickly. The grout can be refreshed using a grout paint system - ours is called fuga fresca - but there are many others out there. You need to try and coat the grout with the paint, your not so much trying to re colour it as trying to overcoat it and smoothen up the surface and close down the pores in the grout. Pay particular attention to the areas that get the wettest or where standing water lies, and if possible after showering give the worst affected areas a quick flick with the towel to give them a chance to dry out

Hope this helps

Don't use bleach on grouts...it might kill the mould etc but it eats into the grout burning it yellow if its white grout etc etc....

I would just use a good grout cleaner or white vinegar mix or even rake out the effected area's if it is deep ingrained....and re-grout....usually a good cleaner does the job and plenty ventilation as well to prevent build up as enduro stated...
