Multitools.......what have you got?

My Lidl cheapy "special" multi tool died a few weeks ago so I popped to screwfix today and picked up the Makita set on special offer. Used it today to cut out 2 tiles on pipe boxing. Such a nice tool to use, variable speed, hardly any vibration and a great box too!



So what makes do we all have and what is good/ not so good about them?

Fein for me, one of the best tools I own, can't fault it. There is a new version out/coming out, that's got reduced vibration and a couple of other features.

I have the Fein 110v which is a good tool but do find the vibration can get a bit to much and needs to be used in small doses, also have a Saxton 240v which is'nt a bad little tool and the vibration seems to be a lot less than the fein, a nice little feature is where the blades fit on there are 4 small nibs that don't allow any slipping when in use.

Fein for me too, originally I got the bosch cordless one but it was useless, or rather the batteries were useless.

I got a couple of the worx sonicrafter 240volt - vibration is a bit much on full power if you're sanding walls down, but other than that they're a great bit of kit

I used my plumber mates makita cordless one last week & it's not a bad wee tool.

Saxton blades are good and cheap, you can find them on amazon

Worx sonicrafter for me too. Also get my bits from saxton tools. Great machine for 50 quid

Fein 110volt multisomethingorother. As per previous comments....plenty of vibration and high pitched noise. But plenty of discs,pads and dust extraction attachments.
And when I can't be bothered to cart around the tranny,a bog standard £40 Aldi special with Saxton blades in it.....good enough for cutting the bottom of back moulds off.

It's very usefull for multi traders / bathroom fitters, not so much hardcore tilers like Dpf. Great tool though if you remember and get new blades for it. I have the fein and get a new blade every week. These tools really are great for bathroom fitting.
