Hello everyone,

My name is Jenny and I'm looking for some advice please,

Well.....Basically my hubby tiled the kitchen floor which looked very good. :) (until he grouted it)
He then grouted it, washed it, it looked good whilst wet.Anyway went to bed and the next morning once it all dried there was grout all over the tiles so i washed them and washed them and washed them and could not get it off.
So my hubby went to CDT and explained and they give him a tub of acid to remove it.Cement away it is called. He applied it all over the tiles with a roller and then scrubbed it of, It come of brilliant but once it dried it doesn't look new anymore like it did when i seen it in the morning, by not looking new i mean the grout lines look all grubby and discolored in places.. Is there anything we can do?

Thanks

Hi Jenny, welcome to the forums,
Sounds like the sement away has 'eaten' away at the grout in the grout lines. If its just discolouration you could try the grout colourant at the bottom of the link.

Its worth a shot before regrouting as a last measure.

Hi Jenny..welcome to the Forum..it sounds like the cementaway has discoloured the grout..depending on the grout you used, you might be able to get a grout colourant from the same grout brand..try to avoid using a different brand... or.. if cost is an issue and your husband has spare time on his hands, get him to scrape out the old grout (take care not to scratch/chip the tile edges/corners) and regrout. Just make sure you clean it properly this time!! Good luck...
