Just a cautionary note! If u intend on packing out with tiles first, be sure they're not too small! It'll depend on the point loading limits of the tray. It could puncture it! Most trays have a point loading minimum limit of 50x50mm
Latex is a cement based product usually mixed with strengthening fibres. Mixed into a thick consistency for your situation it can form a new base which in turn can be re tanked and tiled with your mosaic if u wish.

No what I mean is if any of your tanking in the tray is damp/wet then I would wait for it to dry before fixing any tiles down.

I tanked the tray last Sunday. The wet tray adhesive says can grout after 8 hours so think that will be ready to tile over tomorrow aswell. Have the in laws coming on Sunday so want to get it finished tommorw and grout Sunday morning very early.

I think I'll go with what whitebeam suggested as in S1 rapid set. Just hope it takes to the wet tray tacky adhesive. I've scraped most of it off but you can still see it all over it if you know what I mean.

Be sure u thoughrouly check adhesive is dry before u grout! Often tanked areas will extend drying time!

Thanks very much for all your swift replies folks. I'll buy a bag of S1 rapid set tomorrow and use that. Im comfortable using adhesive and think this is the best approach. One thing though, if rapid set can be used over wet room tanking, why do they give you this gluey tacky stuff to lay tiles in, the stuff is a nightmare to work with and a nightmare to get of tools.

Whose system is it, where did u get it?

I'm wondering now will the other tile adhesive be set because its thicker on one side of room than the other under the floor tiles. You see, I made a slope in the room aswekl, maybe over half inch thick on one end.

Well being that it's a wet room, the last thing u can do is take chances! Don't cut corners just to impress, cos u won't be impressed if it fails!
Take your time, check and re check and u'll have many a happy shower! Get impatient... And u'll be showering in the room below!n

Do you mean who made it? If so, I don't know. I bought it of my brother in law who was building a house, ended up going through a divorce, sold most of his stuff needed to build the house and is now living in Canada. House was sold off half finished!

Won't be cutting any corners. This room is well sealed in tanking, floor sloping to wet tray but only problem is this what were discussing. With this s1 rapid set, it should solve the problem. I hope!

I'd use an S1 rapid adhesive to build up where it's 12mm lower, but (not teaching you to suck eggs) make sure it's flat and no bulges and dips because your'll struggle to get the mosaic built up with to much wet addy.

Went to 4 different tile stores and none knew what s1 was. We both googled s1 rapid set adhesive and c2ft kept appearing beside s1 in our Google search. I explained what it was for and they all said that this c2ft is probably the s1 you recommended. Its highly flexible and can be used on ply, swimming pools, wet areas etc.. So I went with this. Please let me know I've used the proper adhesive.
