Need help please

Again it 'appears' that they are trying to sell you the wrong gear, you need a flexible adhesive and grout for ply floors, also I would use a de-coupling membrane such as Ditra or Dura CI. The only adhesive that comes near on their site is the setaflex, this is a rapid set so if your going to use it make sure hubby mixes smallish amounts at a time, unless his speed is up to scratch.

Again, I don't know the products so will be prepared to be corrected.

Got to go out now, I'll leave you in Merle's capable hands, hope you get sorted out

What primer have you got Mazzy??
havent got any yet as we havent started the floor yet.with some adhesives you dont need to prime do you? think i am going to get my money back for all adhesives etc and start again,so please recommend all we need. have got microban bal ivory grout for walls and floors.

I think you might be getting necessarily worried Mazzy - it's just that most of the lads on here are loyal Mapei or BAL users and haven't used Tilemaster stuff:thumbsup:

It looks like the floor adhesive you have is OK and you can use Flexmaster as a primer, which TA recommend for plywood floors:thumbsup:

You could find that it's great gear, just nobody here can vouch for it just yet - if in doubt speak to their tech. support people:thumbsup:

im off now to the tile shop with more knowledge than they obviously have so they better get ready(im a red head). hubby is an electrician so if you ever need advice just ask, will fill you in later with the results.:yikes:

hi mazzy

ive been reading this thread and havent joined in. too many cooks and all that

something that hasnt been mentioned with priming the ply is priming the underside before laying
this stops unequel stresses on the board which will cause cupping

ther are lots of threads on here about overboarding with ply so i wont go into a description of how to do it

good luck with topps

send them on here they will learn what their doing

hi all, hopefully we have now got sorted with the tile shop, they were still adamant that the soveriegn gripmaster was ok and that they use it all the time(even though i told them we had contacted soveriegn and they even said it wasnt for use in shower areas and for the size of our tiles.) anyway they have given us the tilemaster adhesive slow setting for the walls in white and also the same or the floor but rapid set. hubby has just finished getting all the grout off the walls and is now starting to re tile, thanks for all your help and advice we dont know what we would have done without you all. keep up the good work .the amature tiler needs you, thanks again, maz.:hurray:
