I never thought I'd have to ask this but I need some ideas on a price for a job please guys.

Total room is 33 sqm, this includes floor and ceiling.
The entire room is to be tiled in glass mosaic including the ceiling. What would you be looking at pricing.
It's a bathroom by the way and will be empty and pre prepped ready to tile onto plaster board and a levelled floor.

I have my thoughts but I'd like to here some other input. Also is there anything especially I should look out for with the ceiling or is it pretty straight forward (back breaking - but straight forward)?

Cheers chaps.

hi dev mate , nice job should look mint make sure you post pics.
when you tile the ceiling ( un skimmed i hope ) use a spf adhesive as there will be quite a bit of moisture expansion in bathrooms and as steam rises dont want any dropping off.

As for price if straight forward about £1200 labour only. Materials on top.

GOOD LUCK ! mate and remember post them pics lol ... dave......

What a strange setup having you ceiling tiled as well would love to see the pictures when you have finished that DR

i would definatly be looking between £1600 and £1800 labour only, glass mosaics are a pain at the best of times, especially with a ceiling involved

I would be looking at around the £1200-1300 mark plus bits. Should be an interesting job Dev, hope you get it and post some piccy's.

woud he have to shore up ceiling tiles with board or something whilst the addy sets , just wondered lol glass mosaic would need a white addy with 100% coverage to stop shading
or am i barking up the tile tree:angel_smile:
go on dev get it done n show us the piccys also you can tell us of any probs you come across lol

Wont need to shore up ceiling on this one mate as individual mosaics aint that heavy.

Devo if i was you mate i would price the whole job as i normally would for mosaics......... i would price the ceiling as an individual job (in my mind only) then i would just add an amount that i would be happy to get for doing the ceiling, add the 2 prices together and give it to the customer.

I sometimes find that if i price a job according to what it's worth (the avarage price for your area) but it takes me much longer than i thought, i get really pissed off with myself, but if in my mind i tell myself that i would be happy with ????? pounds no matter how long it takes plus i am getting the experience then i stay much happier 🙂 works for me mate, good luck

Well I worked out a price of £1470 labour plus I've clicked a couple hundred on materials so not too shabby. Don't start for a few weeks yet but the room and ceiling will be fresh plasterboard and an empty room to tile - lovely.

This beast will kill me so be warned now.
