Need to pack it out

I've got to tile a splashback tmw...new worktop has gone in...its got a lip on it customer wants tiles brought out in line with lip...at the widest point I will have to have to pack out with adhesive 6.5mm...I know you are not supposed to do it...but if needs must will I be able to pack out with Butech 1000 ready mixed without any issues (bottom row going in first)

I would maybe use a 6 mm backer board to build it out. If that's not possible then I would use SPF rapid set addy and not tubbed gear.

If you must pack it out I would advise using a cement based adhesive that is suitable for the job, a tubbed adhesive will not be right for this job and will take days to dry out before grouting.

Levels vary...it will have time to dry out over bank holiday before grouting...really didnt want to use cement based cause of all the mxing up

How big is the area? If you use a slow set you should only have to do one mix for a kitchen splash back. Don't mean to sound rude but, would you rather mix a couple of buckets of addy or risk the job failing by using incorrect materials?

It's only a splashback with minimal mixing so put some effort into it. Tubbed gear will take a lot longer than that to go off...if at all..when it's being built out.
