New apartment - loose/damaged kitchen tiles, need a tiler!

Hi,
first post here so apologies for mistakes!

I wonder if I could possibly have your advice regarding a kitchen tile issue. I recently purchased an apartment in Stevenage which has a tiled kitchen floor, however upon buying the property I noticed that one tile was damaged and several were loose. I understand this was only laid 5-months ago.

My Father and I managed to remove one, only to find that the tiles had been put down diretly onto the floor (non-concrete) - and using the same material used for both the adhesive and the grout (by the looks of it). Hopefully the pictures will show you what I mean.



I will shortly be receiving a new fridge/freezer so wish to get this sorted out as soon as possible. Would you be able to advise as to whether its okay to replace the loose tiles or whether it all needs to come up again? As you can see the job was not brilliantly done before (large area in the corner left untiled).


I would be interested in having this job done as I don't have the skills nor time to do it. Any recommendations or advice most welcome!

Pic 3 : That looks like a joint in the substrate..? is this a timber floor.. ( Chipboard).

I will tell you what you may not want to here but rip it up and start again.

Looks like they've tiled straight onto the chipboard in the last picture, that's the problem.......
The only way to sort it is to take them all up and have it re laid correctly

Hi - yes its a chipboard type floor sadly! Seems like whoever did it just skimmed something directly over the top and stuck the tiles down.

Presumably if this is a new apartment you will still be within the nhbc warranty or the standard snagging period for the house builder? Get them to sort it

Its a six year old apartment and the floor was put in by the previous owners apparently.

Is it Gary (GB Walsh) from Galaxy Tiling? I think I've just emailed them from the recommendations page...
