I have 5 Makita batteries, to power my cordless drill, tile cutter and most importantly, the site radio:thumbsup:
However they all seem to be on their way out, not holding the charge or poor power and performance.
I have been reading about rejuvenating them with various methods!
Does anyone know can they be successfully renovated, maybe even cannibalise a couple of them to fix others?
Or, if not, where's the best place to order some new ones:mad2:?

BTW, the batteries are all 12v Ni-MH 2.6ah

I used to get more life from batteries in video cameras years ago . 2 methods were
1, drain the batteries fully by connecting a bulb to the battery and waiting for bulb to go out. Then charge and repeat 3 times before recharging fully. This worked a few times.
2, i never tried this. but some people reckoned you could reverse polarity and it would work. Cant remember the details.

I have had the same recently. Trouble with buying a brand new tool (as nice as that is) I have got 5x12v machines........and I can't afford to replace them all.

I had 10 batteries at one stage........and 1 BY 1 they gave up the ghost. In the end I had to bite the bullet and bought 1x3ah & 3x2.6ah

Took a chance and got the 2.6ah from fleabay. Can't remember where I got the 3ah from.

Just google it, and sniff about

In the US it's big business to get your tool batteries refurbished (i.e. new cells put in them). I don't know of anybody that does this in the UK apart from sending them into the manufacturer who charges a bomb.

These guys always come to mind
