New ATS diamond tools vacuum dry core drills tested

Stock of these drills arrived today.

We have 6, 7 & 8mm in stock on our website (don't ask me for links or prices it's against forum rules).

I'll get a set of each off to Geoff and Stef tomorrow as a thanks for running the tests.

I used a 10mm bit I had in my tool box today & it never even gave me 2 holes in ceramic tiles [emoji35][emoji35]
Not sure where I picked it up from but had been in my box for ages..

My plumber m8 is going to get a set off you Alan after seeing my tile I cored 1st hand..

Ps, anyone looking at these then they are a very good investment.
 
I bought the 8mm drill bit. It looks quite chunky, but it is 8mm.
I lent it out to a couple of the bathroom fitters and they drilled 11 holes between them in porcelain.
It was then my turn and I started off drilling dry. After I started I used a damp sponge, but soon found out that the drill actually performed better dry.

I have now completed hole 16 and it took me 6 mins to drill through 10mm porcelain. The drill bit still looks fresh and I'm sure it would easily go through a few more tiles.
 
Good bits aren't they Sean! Picked another branded core drill up out if my toolbox by accident yesterday. As soon as I started drilling I realised it wasn't an ATS bit, so threw it and started using my ATS bit instead. Will only use ATS bits now [emoji106]
