Tel Boy

Hi all,

Im new to this site so would like to say hello and i have just got my first tiling job.

I need to lay 600x600 porcelain floor tiles. As I have a small budget of £100, I need to get majority of the tools like adhesive spreader, grout spreader, grout smoother, etc. Also the most obvious thing, tile wet saw.

What I need to know is, what is the best wet saw to get to cut 600x600 porcelain tiles. I've looked at a few which say they have a extending tables, but not sure if they are big enough for the tiles I'm doing.

I have been looking at the "Vitrex 103402" (link below). Will this be suitable, please remember I'm on a small budget, well for now anyway.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Terry.

you'll be lucky to kit yourself out to lay those tiles with £150 budget. don't waste your money on cheap stuff as they may well not cut the porcelain. i had to buy a new diamond disc last week to cut hard porcelain and that cost me £120. your cheapest route is a big clinker manual cutter and a 4" grinder with a decent diamond disc in it. good luck with it

you wil not be alble to buy the tools you need on that buget why not hire what you need for this job. useing a hand grider is a skilled job not to be attemted without some trianing if you want to keep all your fingers.you should be asking what adhesive to use what grout what size trowel .if i were you i would look for some labouring work with tilers to gain some experence on site .

Tel Boy - we all had to start somewhere, but selling your wares as a professional tradesman without the basic tools is a slap in the face to any trade.
We are all aware that Del Boy was a likeable wide boy with the deal up his sleeve, but if you have any code of ethics - take the previous advice and get help.
