Gary, when choosing a new pc, the only consideration should be who will be using it and what for, no point in getting fancy features if your not gonna use them, waste of money! In terms of hardware though, is be looking at least at an i5 processor and 4gb of RAM.
Thanks Charlie ,after a lot of discussion with the shop owner and some research in some pc magazines I decided to go with a gigabyte mother board with a i5 processor overclocked to run at 4.6ghz ,8gb of ram memory and 1Tb of hard disk space ,a mid range graphics card and dvd drive ,hoping this will work well for me , I know very little about computers and the last P.C I actually bought was in 2004 so I am looking forward to collecting the new one at the weekend ,I would like to buy a new 24 inch HD monitor too as at the moment I have 2 screens one 19inch hannsg and a 21 inch and would prefer just one decent screen

Do you mean you want to buy one? Or you have bought one, but what would we want?

I can find you some good PC's if you're looking to buy. But it's wasting my time if you've bought already, and if that's the case I'll tell you what I'd look for in general if I were a tiler who used the web for browsing a lot and invoices, email etc.

I-mac would suffice.. pro is out of my budget.. well not really but wife would kill me

Have to admit though, i do like windows 7

I have a MacBook. What a piece of kit. Had it a year and I have never had a single error message, no viruses, no spyware, no malware etc. Unlike my old PC, the blue screen was appeared so often it was more like a screen saver. I would not go back to Windows now. I am a convert after 22 years of Windows.
