New Polished Porcelain Tiles have hazing!

Hi all, my first post and I hope one of you guys can help. We have just had our Polished Porcelain tiles layed and there is a hazing over tiles that looks like a film of dust over parts ofthem. It is very noticeable in one area of my dining area as there is lighting streaming in it. I have taken one of the remaining tiles to the tile shop who have been very helpful. However, they have tried various products which have not taken this clouding/hazing off them. They have one more stronger solution to try (something like degradex) and they will let us know. However, my hubby reckons it is under the tile. If this does not work then they said they will send someone up from London to come and look at my house. Absolutely gutted. They are big 600 x 600 and it is over 60 meters! Any help would be grateful.

it sounds like they were not sealed prior to grouting,try using lithofin MN power clean or HG extra

The shop where we bought them tried a few cleaners and are going to try one other. However, the tiles that have not been laid have these markings on them. Any ideas?

it sounds as if they are wax coated!
check the box it should say so?

It sounds like a transit wax coating..Not all cleaners will remove it..

where were the tiles from..?

I got them from Tilemania. Not sure which Country they came from. What I need to know is if this stuff does not come off then do I have a case to get something done. It looks as if I have not cleaned my tiles!!

Aqua Mix Nanoscrub will remove it if it is transit wax, that's what it was originally designed for. try www.tradetiler.co.uk one of the sponsors of the forum he stocks it.

I'd go with a transit wax too. I usually use a diluted Grimex solution to remove it, then 3 coats of sealer to finish once it's fully dry

Have used a few of the usual tile cleaners and nothing has worked. Still waiting on the company coming back to me about it. I am sure the tile company used Grimex on it.

Grimex can be mixed to different strengths and can be left for longer periods, it can very effective depending on how its used.

No it won't hide the haze

It was the tile company that had suggested the sealer so we are going to let them put it on. But has anyone came across this before and if so has the sealer helped hide the hazy bits?
