New Rubi magnet cutter

sorry,
the same as the photo?
Yes. What I really like is that to scribe you press the lever on the handle and the scribe lowers coming perfectly into view so you can drop it right on your line. No lining up, practicing, lining up again.
You then push or pull whichever you prefer, let go of the arm you had pushed to use the scribe, the scribe raises leaving the snapper bars down and you just push the handle down. Will snap either top, bottom, even middle.

Sigma you just slide along, bang the handle, perfect cut!

I had to buy a new cutter this week. I looked at the RUBI magnetics and there was a demo day at the local builders depot . It seems to cut well etc. I also tried a friends Sigma .That was a instant game changer . I knew no matter what .The Rubi was no longer on my wish list . My next job is with expensive porcelain .A friend showed me his Kaufmann (Topline 630) . Its stupid heavy and built like a 1950's Soviet tank . BUT WOW..... Can it cut all the types of tiles I tried ! In some ways the sigma is a lot easier to deal with .And a case at costs still help protect etc .The Kaufmann does not have a case . It also does not have "wings" But thats not a issue as I Have made tile stands from Green MDF with some rubber glued to the tops. Once the cutter is on my table stand (I never work on the ground !) the blocks are exactly the right height to support any tiles . Dont dismiss the Kaufmann cutter .If you are using medium to 600's size tiles .
