New Tiler!

Hello everyone, I am new here. I joined for a few reasons, but mainly because I found a lot of useful information just browsing the pages- thanks for that! Found some great ideas on advertising that I haven't previously thought about.

Anyhow, I am starting my own tiling business here in the states and am in process of getting everything together, business cards made, etc.

I have an urgent questions before I send my business cards off to print..

under my name, should I put 'Tile Installer' or does that seem too limited? I was already called today for a wood floor repair estimate, something I CAN do and will do... but this made me think, should I put 'Flooring Specialist' under my name? Or 'Owner' or what? I need advice. I don't want to have people disregard my card if they think I only do tile... or are people smart enough to put two and two together and know that I do all sorts of flooring?

Of course, tile is what I want to be doing more than wood floor or carpet... but I don't want to be turning away business if I don't have to. I at least want to be in control of turning away business

welcome to the forum tileman, I'm sure theres room on your card for, all types of flooring'. I would do a 'kelly' search for similar buisnesses in the states and see how they market themselves

welcome Tileman, your terminology may be slightly different to the UK version, Rob Z would be the man to run this by, as he's based in the USA too

:welcome:to the forum. having over aspects of flooring covered on your cards will not hurt your business imo although it will be more important on your advertising.. but you will have to work out the wording correctly, ie can you do carpets, vinyl tiles, laminate floors, fully stuck vinyl saftey flooring or will it be more wooden floors?
