has anyone used this stuff , rather than hardi backer board for floors ?
Rather than use thinset it comes with its own adhesive in a silicon tube , also comes with a lifetime guarentee

Tiles merchants near me has started stocking it so wonder if it's any good ?

I use it all the time. Hardie isn't available near me. I've never had any problems with it and find it easy to lay. It works out quite expensive tho

I used to use it but moved to Hardie, To me its a bit too brittle and shiny for my liking. Never had any trouble with it though previously.

Brilliant product, easy to install but as local says, works out fairly expensive.

Cheers for replies , matey that was selling it was saying its structual and actually stabilises floor ,same as 12-15mm overlay , unlike hardie which just gives suitable background to tile onto ,

Can't see how it is but I may stand corrected ,

I thought 6mm hardie was stable enough to use as an overlay if glued and screwed correctly. Its solid stuff but I too will happily be corrected if that not the case

Good stuff if layed correctly, polyurethane adhesive and screwed to wood floors and cement based adhesive when laying it to solid floors.......used it a lot and no problems....

It is.
And whist Hardie do not claim that it stiffens a floor, we all know it can.

I use nmp all the time. I get on with it fine. Had one problem in the past but the house was moving, so can't really blame the product there!
