Had a phone call tonight, I had four nice sice bathrooms to tile in a house that has undergone a complete refurbishment!
The electricians had been doing some work in the loft space and guess what?
The house burnt down last night due to an electrical fault!!!
Luckily the house was un-occupied and no one was hurt!
Apparently there was a short in some new wiring somewhere in the loft space!
So i could have a long christmas holiday!

I was nearly a guilty party !! … how’s this one for you ref the cold snap – had to take a hair dryer with me in the van in Friday cos I was sure the tap outside the house we’re working on would be frozen. It wasn’t but I could have burnt a house down … cos i also took the fan heater (hands were frozen wet cutting crappy trav all day Thursday), plugged in to heat our room, everything fine for an hour then my extension reel (which is a JCB jobbie with a built in trip) tripped out. Felt the extension reel and the cable was getting warm! … a bit embarrassing as I have a pocket full of elecy qualifications – oooops …. So if you plug a fan heater (sucks loads of current) into your extension reel – then make sure the cable is fully extended and not coiled up on the reel.
