Noob question :-)

Just a couple of NOOB questions for you peeps.. .. So i believe the rule is: full tile on top of a work top, unless the customer wants otherwise. If this is the case, do you actually sit the tile on the work top, or do you put a grout line in first..? Also, and where you are cutting into a ceiling line, do you cut that in tight, or do you also put in a grout line..?

sit worktop tiles on 2mm spacers and Silicon the space.And when cutting into a ceiling do use a grout line too....Gaz

i just tile straight up from the work top then Silicon finish....small gap to ceiling then grout...flexible grouts aswelll...........dave...

I just go from the worktop aswell, just finished a brickbond splashback today, customer would not let me silcone along the benches, said it would spoil her new worktops , had to just put some grout in and told her it would probably crack, never mind, her choice.

My customers work top doesn`t quite meet the wall, about 2-3 mm off of it, so i am sooo pleased for mastic..:shades_smile: .. ..

The tile should cover it if it's only 2-3mm.

Cheers Varley.. .. To be honest it`s genna be me first job>>>> A glass splash back, about 5 m2..! Am i right in thinking i will need a certain type of adhesive for glass..?? Will post the pictures should i get payed..????...LOL

white star is fine for glass and so is a spf adhesive...(single part flexible )....dave...

p.s....use a flexible grout on glass but check its suitable for glass so as not to scratch it...

Spot on MC,mosaic fix(BAL) is the best adhesive in powder form there is,White star is best tub gear...both fantastic for any glass

Don't forget to back butter the tiles or you'll probably see the ribs through the tile.
