... the ones where you take the top of your finger off with an electric planer 😳

Been at A+E all afternoon and can't work for a week

No Dave, I didn't take a photo!!!

done it mate and yes it does hurt

I followed it a few weeks later by catching the back of my hand in my chop saw then the following week i was using a framing nailer and a nail hit a knot and shot of the side of the stud and sliced my arm

my foreman flicked through the accident book when he was filling it out, 3 entries he said and all yours, 😳

Was reaching round to check the sawdust bag collector thingy and honestly thought my fingers were no where near the blade.
Stupid I know !!!

sorry to hear it mc  you do realize you will have to now change your avatar to a more updated photo of your hand.. sorry i couldnt resist,

:lol::lol::lol:
That was my thought!
My step dad did the same thing a few years ago. He was used to using an old plane, treated himself to a electric one. First day he took it to a piece of wood and ran his fingers along the blade out of habbit... I laughed for weeks :lol::lol:

I'd normally bet you a tenner you wont do that again but by the sounds of it you might. :drool5::lol:

Get well soon mate..

oh dear Nick  I have an accident book here at home. bro-in-law bought it for hubby cos hubby kept having accidents like you. ever since the accident book has been in the house, hubby hasn't had an accident. i'll pass the book on

Please do GGR.
Will update my avatar.

PS: the irony is that my finger tip was found in the saw dust bag collector thingy that had stopped working!

Pull your finger out mate and start it up!

I hate to say this macten but is the planer ok?.
only joking, that is damn sore:yikes:.I worked with wood machines for 16 years and seen many things go wrong and limbs damaged or removed!

quick story: next door neighbour (when I was a lad) chopped his big toe off with his flymo:yikes: big panic looking for his toe to wrap in bag of frozen peas... I knew exactly where it was, and there was nooo way I was gonna go and get it off my black lab:20:

Cheers guys. Gonna let myself heal for a week, finish my job, then I'm off to Jamaica :hurray:

Only 9 finger nails to trim now😳

Know a plumber who lost the tip of one of his fingers with a hedge trimmer
A plumber who shut his finger in his van door and again lost the end of one of his fingers.

Electric planer eh, my mate can't use mine be cause you need a full contingent of fingers to hold it and hold the safety button in. He only has four and a half thanks to an 'Electric Planer!
