We are a commercial flooring contractor and we are finding that we are being asked to price ceramic tiles more and more.

Ceramics are something that we have no knowledge of whatsoever. It is not that we are trying to take business away from tiling companies, but that our clients want a company who can take on a complete flooring package. If we do not price this work, another company will.

Initially, we have two jobs to price. one in Aylesbury and one in Nuneaton, although this should lead to a lot more work nationwide. I have only received the enquiry this afternoon and it needs to be submitted by 10am tomorrow.

In short, I am looking for someone who has experience of pricing work for high-profile end-users and can supply the labour to carry out this work. The right person will need to be available to speak to later this evening or early tomorrow morning due to the short-notice of this enquiry.

As this is not something we specialise in, I am totally open to how to go about it. It could be that if somebody is interested that we could collaborate on these works. We could supply the materials if there is somebody that wants to price the work and then just provide a labour-only serivce.

I must stress that soft flooring is what we do and what we are interested in continuing to do. It would be nice to think that we could provide an opportunity of good, ongoing work to a more independent company rather than watching the bigger companies swallow up all of the work and the money!

As these are construction sites, H&S is a priority so CSCS cards are a must. Any other H&S accreditation or documentation would be advantageous.

Please PM me with your details and I will be in touch before 11pm this evening or after 7am tomorrow morning.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Stephen
