Outside tiling advice please

Hi all
A customer has briefly mentioned he wants an area outside that is covered with a porch doing in a terracotta tile.
Don't know much else about it yet but can anybody explain any things i need to know like Is there a specific adhesive an grout,will a frost in winter be a problem,etc.

Choose an adhesive that can be used outside, like Mapei etc. The tiles will have to be solid bed laid with the adhesive, check the backing of the tiles as you go.

Try to cover at the end of the day with sheeting, as no rain etc can get in the grout joints. The same as the grout, use the right outside one.

Basically, if you leave voids, or dot & dab, then water can get in , it freezes and blows the tiles, good luck.

as fred has said above keep covered after tiling dont do it in cold conditions 5 degrees is the min temp to do outside tiling work and use good quality addy and grouts or you will have problems!

I agree I would also add that even when temps are ok err on the side of caution with regards to traffic, even when using fast set flexi I tell cust not to use area for 24hrs if poss.
