Over tiling onto polished porcelain tiles

I have to quote for the following:

Install 10mm Marmox boards to floor, fit UFH, SLC then tile (28sqm).

Trouble is that there are 300 x 300 polished porcelain already on the floor. I suggested getting a breaker and taking them up but customer wants to investigate sticking the boards on top of the tiles :mad2:.

Has anyone got any ideas for easily taking the glaze off, to make them porous enough for me to apply Ardex P82 epoxy primer, please?

only ever used pci primer 303 for such jobs darren,never used ardex that primers designed for non absorbent surfaces

apply direct to the tile

They look like a B&Q type polished porcelain. I rubbed some 60 grit over one of the tiles and it scoured up pretty good so I was wondering whether I could use a belt sander or something similar just to ensure that I get a good bond.

PMSL - I wanna get rid but customer wants to cause me grief. Just thought I'd try and get a few other opinions before I walk away.

I wasn't sure if I would get a good bond on these shiney suckers, though, Steve?

Just tell them your not prepared to do it unless the existing tiles are removed

I havent used the p82 for what you want to use it for but it is sticky gear! you could phone there tecy department they are very helpful. But to be honest if it was me id rather rip it up as you want to. was just giving you some info on there product.
