One can only assume they're broke and need more money.

they were turned off as trial a couple of months ago to monitor the accident rate if cameras were removed, the government reckoned they were in effective and an intrusion

In all fairness, it's only a problem if you speed, and at least you know where they are. In Fife we have 6 mobile speed camera's that turn up anywhere. They even put them one after the other on the same stretch of road to catch you out if you race off after passing one.

I think they should all be banned and I quote 'Speed Cameras Dot Org'; "the only way to cut down on the biggest reasons for accidents on the road, i.e. drivers not paying attention, or misjuding other drivers, or just being a poor decision maker, is to provide better more strict training and actual real police roles policing the roads properly'.

No third party investigations have ever been able to actually confirm they cut down on accidents. Only government and local council investigations do, and guess what, nearly none came back with even a chance they didn't work. Why? Cash.

They're stuck behind trees, on blind bends, on roads where there are no accidents but only speeding - which causes sudden braking and accidents!

They need to police the roads more but it's all money! That costs money and doesn't make much.
