tiling over some ply boxing thats been painted, whats the best method of preperation, and best sort of adhesive- tubbed or cement based?cheers

You can tile onto it if its keyed well..but might be easier to overboard with plasterboard or backerboard if likely to be submitted to moisture......

Hi burncross

I had a en-suite a few weeks that was painted, The paint on the wall was very sound....I sanded it down as much as I could with course sand paper and then give it a good key:mad2: I used BAL grip and BAL white star around the shower area.

On walls monty i would just prep as you say..but seen as its a boxing sometimes its easier just to screw board over for a better fix..........

I screwed some plasterboard over the top on the last job i did. Didn't take 5 minutes and it put my mind at ease that it was gonna be sound. Plus plasterbaord is cheap as chips really.
