parquet floor, pull up or not pull up

Hi all My enter button has decided to stop working,please bare with me. Went to look at a job last night, its a hallway floor with parquet flooring under the carpet. Solid floor but if I take it up then there will be a gap between tiles and skirting and door frames plus over floors leading off it. Would it be possible to cover the floor in a leveller, I would probably use Ardetex NA and then tile on top. I told them I would estimate on pulling up, slc then cement boards and then another estimate for tiling on top etc. Just wondered on everybodies thoughts on levelling over the top for a better surface to tile on to. i would rip it up, its most likely to be covered in varnish or wax and be to unstable to tile..

As Andy has said take them up might have been sealed with wax or Borne seal not good for taking a L/C board it with backer board better safe than sorry.

Id take it up too... Offer to re-do the skirtings and architraves too! Then there's the re-decorating.... You could be there for a month!

Just spoken to a local company and they said I could ditra mat over the top sticking it down with Mapei VS90 which sticks to anything. I'd have to rough up the wood first aswell.
Ive never done skirting boards etc before so wouldn't want to offer that service.

Every job ive done before the parquet flooring has always been pulled up and prepared by the builder etc.
