for some reason these skimlinks come up whenever i hit a link on this forum, anyone know why?

its bizarre, this is the message i get....

If you’ve landed on this page, you may be wondering exactly what it’s all about.

We’re Skimlinks — a service that helps online publishers earn money.

When links in publishers’ content lead their users to click through and buy from an online retailer, we make sure they’re rewarded!

We aim to make our service seamless and unobtrusive, so your user experience should not be interrupted. If you’ve landed on this page and didn’t mean to, unfortunately you’ve most likely clicked on a broken link along the way. Links can be broken if they are badly formatted; if you spot any again, we’d advise reporting these to the site owner.

It's an affiliate scheme, we get paid a small commission on links to products on ebay etc via it. But if it's loading that page, skimlinks is having issues.

Was there a particular link or links that you clicked to see the message? I'll take a look. I can disable it with a click if it's down for some reason.

When you click on any external link? Or a particular one?

Just to test - www.electriciansforums.co.uk <- click that maybe? See if that does it.

On the PC that it's doing it on, try testing a different web browser. If it is just the one web browser on that one PC doing it, it might be Javascript-related. Let me know what browser it is and I'll find the settings for you.

Chrome uses a version if Firefox as its core code, its open source software which Google like as it free lol

So not so strange.

Leave it with me I have a ticket open with skimlinks. But I'm just having a quick pint and will check my own chrome settings when I get back.
