I'm gonna change my van soon, and I'm looking for a double ab pick up, (we're getting a caravan this year, so I'll need it as a towing vehicle also). I was thinking along lines of a Navara, L200 type of thing, has anyone got anything like it and would you recomend one?
Cheers
Doug:thumbsup:

I have a Mitsubishi L200 double cab, very nice motor and very reliable. I do a lot of towing, mini-digger etc and it tows very well.

cheers mate, that's the kind of answer I was looking for:thumbsup: what's the road tax cost on one of these?

When i was in Oz i had a 2.7 Toyota Hilux, 2WD very reliable and great pulling power, very basic it was though.

If i was going to buy another double cab pick up i would probably have a Isuzu Rodeo 3 litre. I have had two Isuzu troopers and they were fantastic vehicles.

i have a ford ranger thunder double cab. tax is £185 a year. pulls my caravan with ease. full leather and heated seats and the kids love it. only problem is metal trims dont fit in it so have to fasten them to the ladder rack

Hi Doug, at one point three members of my family had the L200s (2x Animal, 1 std) they pull like trains, can take anything you throw at them and the Animal has leather interior. They turn in around 30mpg.

The only thing that put me off was fitting in the trims and having the open load area. In the end I opted for the Shogun Sport which is based on the same chassis, same spec inside etc. I run the 3.0V6 which gives around 21mpg and costs £210 for road tax its now done over 200k miles and is still a dream to drive.

thanks Sean, trims shouldn't be a problem, as I'll probably be using my trailer for keeping and transporting my tools, and trims will fit nicely in it:thumbsup:

Hi Wayne, one of my company trucks is a Ford Ranger single cab with 6 foot bed. We don't have Rangers here with double cab...if you could post a picture of your truck I would like to see what one looks like.

Doug, I don't know the name of the truck you mentioned so I googled it...is this what you are thinking about getting? Looks nice.
