Plasplugs Pro + spares

My Plasplugs Pro + wet cutter has been taking a small chip off the edge of the tile at the end of a cut. I have noticed that there is a slight flutter when the wheel is spinning so I am wondering if this is causing the problem and there is wear in the motor shaft/bearing.

Before I try and strip the machine to have a look does anyone know if internal bits are available or is it a case of chucking it and buying something else.

You dont need to take the machine apart and there is very little you can do if needed anyway. Grab the wheel and check for play. Spindles are known to bend and the motor mounting points can melt or break. The cost in labour and parts make it better just to renew the machine.

Thanks for the info, saved me a lot of work for nothing. Not a good week my van went for MOT and its got terminal rot so that will have to be replaced as well.

it tends to happen in 3's so there'll be one more expense along the way lol
seriously, dont waste any money on the plasplugs, get a new one mate. they were always hit and miss.

For the money it didn't perform any better than the cheap one I still have. I will use that for now while I consider a replacement.

Try another blade first... sometimes if a blade gets to hot as you are pushing a tile through , the stress can warp the blade.. so try another before writing off the machine.. if it still does it then ye, it is the spindle.. quite common on the plasplug machine,

It might be worth getting in touch with the company (0800 8406820) as I have a contractor plus and burnt out the motor and they said I can get a replacement motor for £25.00 plus shipping.
I do agree though at the lower end you do take a chance with the machines you get. I was really chuffed with mine as I was able to cut marble rods into 5mm thick slices without a problem.

I thought Plasplugs ahd gone out of business that's why I never bothered to try and ring them. Once I have had a chance to try a spare wheel to chek that it isn't the wheel but the shaft I will give them a ring. Thanks
