plaster board on green slate floor tiles

Did the decorater not cover the floor before sanding
this is must with decorating, i tape down polythene and throw a drop sheet on top
I was always told that if the customer wanted their house messed up they would do it themselves not pay someone else

if the painters got anything about him he will do the work at his expense

Hi Dave (or any other helpful person!)

Thanks for your advice, I followed your instructions and scrubbed (and scrubbed!) the floor with the grime remover. I'd say I've managed to get 80% of the mess off. I scrubbed with a brush, nail brush and finally a toothbrush trying to get into all the cracks and get the dust out from the edge of the ridges but there's still some left. Do you think there's anyway to get the last of it off or do I just have to accept it's never going to look as lovely as it did?

I haven't yet put the new sealant on, will this make a difference?

Once you are sorted, Do not use strong domestic floor cleaners (e.g. Flash) as these can attack the seal. I was told this by an instructor on a course I completed, hope this helps and good luck with your floor.
