Plastic trim

Plastic trim you either love it or hate it...I personally hate the stuff, even when its cut really neatly i think i spoils a tiling job as it always looks cheap...What do you think?

Most people won`t pay for the better stuff though and i know from reading your posts Enduro that work in a high class market

I hate plastic trim. Those who won't have the good stuff, won't even pay for pre-made corners, so I usually have to mitre them, and that looks crap imo, even when using proper gear.

Never get a customer that wants decent trims, always want low low costs.

av noticed a lot of kitchen splashbacks recently where the fixers havnt put any trims along the top ,just up the sides ..every customer av eva had wud of said wheres the effn trims along the top am not paying till u sort it ,my question is ,how do these people eva get paid ???

I always give them the option, and explain how the trim is going to look awful against there lovely new tiles...

For bathroom windows I trim them, but for splashbacks I think finishing off with a thin layer of grout gives a far better finish.

I agree with Fekin. Unless it's an actual external corner, I think a little grout looks alot better.

I think if the the tiles don't have glazed edges then the trim gives a great finish if you can cut it properly. Seems I'm on my own here.

I wouldn't say your on your own, just theres a time and place for plastic trims, kitchen splashbacks isn't one of them

I'm juggling jobs at the minute and finished a kitchen splash this morning and put chrome trims on,i personally like trims as long as they're well cut and fitted with nice grout around them too.I can purchase lovely chrome trims now for £7 !! not bad eh?

Chrome trims are a different bread... they plain white or cream trims just look pants I think, but I still fit'em in bathrooms

i also think trim makes the job look cheap and tacky some times it has to be used i must admit but a job properly mitered makes it look like a DIY job ete

Hi newbie here, I am about to tile my bathroom walls in white to window board level finishing with a black tile border , I was going to use a black trim as the borders are not glazed on the sides but having read the above posts what are my alternatives . First serious tiling project would hate it if it looked tacky it would drive me mad.
