Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere. My husband and I are doing a full refurbishment in the kitchen and after a long time we were hoping to be finished this week but the tiles placed on the floor are now coming off. They are porcelain floor tiles and as you can see in the images the adhesive does not stick to them at all and they come off without any difficulty. You can literally put a chisel at the edge and with a tiny bit of pressure they pop.
The tiles says that he did all the right things in terms of products and procedures (he used this adhesive
https://www.toppstiles.co.uk/fixing-finishing/adhesive/excel-bond-rapidset-flexible-grey-20kg) and the technique was "standard full bed of adhesive applied with notched trowel"
I am now into contact with the company from where we bought the tiles in case it was a faulty batch but it will be a very lengthy and painful process to get an answer from them.
I was hoping if anyone here had any suggestions/experience on a similar situation as I am now stuck and I am worried that I will have to pay labor costs for a second time.
A big thank you!
