a goal should have been awarded , not a pen , it was so blatant a handball to stop the goal ..that rule give them a chance to save the ball

In Rugby when a serious offence prevents an almost certain score the ref can award a penalty try. I reckon that's a much better idea.

I agree Sandy, but until soccer drags itself out of the dark ages and embraces technology, like all other high spectator sports do, it won't be possible
