Is yours the old style one button Henry or the new Hi/Lo switch? The Hi/Lo switches get a bit sticky and can give bother but it's possible to bypass the speed control and have the on off switch running direct to full power and that sorts it out.

Henrys take some abuse. The amount of broken Dysons I've seen in customer's houses is scary.
