Poor tiling job

I was of the understanding you had to give the installer fair opportunity to rectify any issues you have before going to solicitors and court.
How is that going to happen if you won’t let him in?

Yes, of course I will give him the opportunity, but in essence he left the job without consultation and invoices me. I’m just making a principled point that if he invoiced me he must think it’s been done satisfactorily.

Well it kinda seems you have an answer in your head that your waiting for someone to agree with but i don't think that any of us here can agree with that approach. this comes from us possibly having to be that person on the other side. I too would think you were at it if you wouldn't let me see the faults in person.

I totally understand you dont want that company to fix it but sadly you need to let him try rectify it. Your agreement could very well end up being that he doesn't and calls it quits.

The point your making although i see that too won't stand, think of a new build house that could have numerous if not hundreds of snags (as per a recent documentary) and it would have still seemed satisfactory at the point your mortgage lender handed the money over also. You still would have had to let them in to see them and resolve them.

Thanks Tony, I see your point.

I will again suggest we have a telephone conversation prior to any viewing. This will set out what we both want from the meeting. I think that’s at least meeting him half way initially. He is however an absolute cowboy imho
