Porcelain adhesive choice

Hi,

Looking to lay 600*300 porcelain tiles onto a painted (matt emulsion) plasterboard wall. What steps do i need to make to ensure the wall is fully prepped. i have checked the weight and they are ok

do i sand off the paint, prime and use appropriate adhesive?
do i need to sand or can i just apply primer straight on to the pained wall?

Have you tried washing the paint off? wet the wall and wait a few minutes then scrub with a sponge. Sometimes its comes off easy, if not then out with a sander.
