I'm hoping this is just the pre christmas rush starting a little bit earlier and not due to the vat rise cos that might mean things will die in the new year. I mean the price of doing a bathroom by self employed guys that aren't vat reg. isn't going to go up by much. Materials will go up by 1.89%( I explained figure in an earlier thread ) which is £18.90 on £1000....hardly a fortune. When you add the labour to which vat doesn't apply it's virtually nothing on the overall price.

Might be worth explaining that one to someone who thinks having work done before new year is going to save them a fortune. Personally I'd rather start the new year with a few weeks work in the diary and am quite happy to absorb that 1% or whatever to make that happen.
